Amalia Starr and Dr. Diane Cullinane, the authors of books on Autism, will make a dual Author Night appearance in the Library Community Room, 1115 El Centro Street, onThursday, May 21 at 7 p.m. The free, practical program is presented by the City of South Pasadena, the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library, and the Kiwanis Club of South Pasadena. Special thanks to the South Pasadena Public Library, the South Pasadena Police Department, and the Institute for the Redesign of Learning popularly known in the community as the Almansor Center.
Amalia Starr, writer of the instructive and inspiring books “I Have Autism: What’ll I Do Without You, Mom” and,” Raising Brandon: Parenting My Son to Live Successfully with Autism, Epilepsy, and Learning Disorders” made an impressive appearance at the South Pasadena Library more than 5 years ago. She is a motivational speaker and family consultant who conducts workshops and seminars around the country. Dr. Diane Cullinane will be previewing her forthcoming book “Behavioral Challenges in Children with Autism and Special Needs: The Developmental Approach.” Dr. Cullinane is a developmental pediatrician and co-founder and Executive Director of Professional Child Development Associates (PCDA).
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. No tickets or reservations are necessary. Refreshments will be provided and copies of books will be available for purchase.
